Building Information Modelling (BIM) is the digital method for the design, installation, operation and facility management of buildings and constructions. BIM is based on the active networking of all stakeholders over the entire lifecycle of a building or construction. Clearly defined agreements and standards are required for the associated processes and interfaces. For this, buildingSMART Germany (Link zu https://www.buildingsmart.de/) has been involved as part of the international buildingSMART movement for more than 20 years. The independent association promotes open, manufacturer-neutral interfaces and thus "open BIM". It stands for high quality BIM standards and solutions that focus on users and their work processes.

BDH supports the work of buildingSMART as an active member and pushes the standardization in the field of building services at national, European and international level.
